As much as I Iove fall, I'm really not ready for summer to end this year. Typically, the minute labor day weekend is over I've already switched over my summer and fall wardrobe, planned out apple picking and pumpkin picking trips, made big batches of butternut squash soup, and started burning apple and pumpkin scented candles. Typically, I'm still sweating my butt off. I'm just usually over the heat by now and ready for all of the gorgeous fall scents & colors and cozy sweaters & boots. But fall leads to winter...and last winter was a rough one for me. It just seemed to drag. I love it through the holidays but January, February and most of the time, March, are just dreadful.
I'm trying to soak up as much of what's left of summer as I can. Doesn't help that next week I'll be in NYC for fall fashion week. (However, I'm ridiculously excited about it!) I'm happy that I had such an amazing summer though. I went to VA to visit my brother, his wife, and my nephew in June. I went to N.H for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. In July I went to Michigan with my family for the first time in about 13 years and celebrated one of my closest friend's wedding in Long Beach Island. I made some new friends and rekindled old friendships, had lots of Margarita Mondays, graduated school and became a certified health counselor, enjoyed plenty of sunshine, walks, trips to the park, cooked lots of delicious foods etc. I really wanted to enjoy every moment so that I wouldn't feel like it was gone in the blink of an eye when it was over. So I will thoroughly enjoy fall, and try my hardest to appreciate winter for all of it's beauty also.
