Blueberries are the second most popular fruit in the U.S (right behind strawberries) and are bursting with antioxidants. In fact, they have more antioxidants than most fruit and vegetables. Antioxidants keep our bodies healthy by protecting our cells from damage that could lead to diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and age related diseases.
Eating blueberries can:
treat and prevent urinary tract infections
improve eyesight (nicknamed the "vision fruit" in Japan)
keep the brain healthy and may even help prevent diseases like Alzheimers
relieve arthritis and joint pain
strengthen the immune system (lots of Vitamin C)
possibly prevent wrinkles and signs of aging on the skin
So, there you have it. Eat more blueberries! Add them to a smoothie, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, desserts, salads, etc.
